History

On January 24, 1875, a group of Masons in Linkville asked Warren Lodge #10 of Jacksonville to sponsor a new Lodge in Linkville (now Klamath Falls). This was granted on February 17, 1875 and a dispensation granted on April 9, 1875. It was not to be known as Klamath Lodge. However, these plans did not materialize and they surrendered their records and dispensations on March 3, 1876.

The organization of Klamath Lodge was started again in 1879, and on July 16, 1879 a dispensation was granted by Grand Master Rocky Preston Earhart for Klamath Lodge U.D. at Linkville, Lake County, this time being sponsored by Ashland Lodge #23, Ashland.

The charter was granted on June 15, 1880 for Klamath Lodge #77. Alex P. McCarton was the first Worshipful Master. He had played a very instrumental part in the forming of the lodge in 1879.
